hi.
i have this problem that everytime i startup my macpro, it won't load automatically, it always show me the volumes option right after the tone [like pressing ''alt'' key for showing connected volumes] even though no key is pressed or peripheral connected. any ideas what's the problem or how to fix it ?
- using osx lion but also happened when using snow leopard -
thanks.

Have you tried going to Startup Disk in System Preferences and making sure your hard drive is hilighted there?

You could reset PRAM. It won't hurt and it might help.
