I am a new Mac OS X Snow Leopard owner, and cannot figure out how to delete
saved bookmarks. I would appreciate advice on how to start deleting!
Thank-you,

Elizabeth

Welcome to FineTunedMac, elizatyt! smile

I assume that you are using Safari. Go to the Bookmarks menu and click Show All Bookmarks. Select the the bookmarks that you wish to delete and then press the Delete key. Hint: you can select several bookmarks at the same time by pressing Command while you click. Then, they will all be deleted simultaneously when you press Delete.

As an alternative, you can Control-click (same as Right-click) a bookmark and select Delete from the contextual menu.

As opposed to using the "Bookmarks" menu you can click on the little book at the left end of your bookmarks bar to view your bookmarks "collection."

If you want to delete a whole bunch of consecutive items from a list of selectable items, select the top one and shift-click on the bottom one; you can do this multiple times and/or combine it with multiple command-clicks to easily prune a long list.
