I'm using Safari 4.0.3 and I seem to have lost the ability to clear Recent Searches via the Google search bar. I was able to do that in Safari 4.0.2 (and previous) by clicking the triangle next to the magnifying glass icon; Clear Recent Searches was an option. That option is no longer there.

Am I missing something?

Same here Jon. Apple Discussions has a thread with some not so great workarounds.

Thanks for the link, Gary. I used OnyX to clear recent searches (which works fine except that it quits all open apps in order to do it, so it's not ideal). I haven't tried Glims but I may. Still, I have Pith Helmet and Saft so I don't necessarily want another hack installed. I also responded directly to Apple at Mac OS X Feedback.

Jon,

The way I clear (Google) searches in Safari 4.0.3, is to use the Clear History in the History Menu Bar.

Is the issue that this technique does not work for you, or that you want to clear recent (Google) searches, but do not wish to lose your history?

That's the issue.

There's a problem with Glims for me: It may conflict with Saft, which has features that I use constantly. From the Glims web site:

Note to Saft users:
Using both Glims and Saft on the same browser could have unexpected results. Instead of spending time inquiring and fixing this, we decided to invest our time into improving Glims so that you can ditch Saft as soon as possible. Please feel most welcome to share you thoughts with us.
