The MicroMat site has new forums. Those of you who registered before should not have to register again. It may be necessary to delete browser cookies for www.micromat.com to gain access to the site on your first visit.

Please let me know here if you encounter any problems with the new forums. Thank you.

Preferences for the new forums:

After you log in, click the generic icon that appears next to your username, where you are welcomed at the upper left corner of the window. Then click the tiny Edit button in the upper right corner of the new window. You will see a link that allows you to add an avatar.

To add a signature, click the Profile Information button, then scroll to the bottom of the page.

No problems. I did not delete cookies, successfully logged in, and added an avatar.

Jon,

Thanks for letting me know that you did not have to delete the cookies. It is possible that mine became corrupted during testing.

Indeed. Like Jon, I could log in and access the forums without deleting cookies.

alternaut,

Thanks for letting me know that I am now in the minority of users who need to delete cookies to gain acces to our new forum. It was really exasperating, because Safari would auto-complete to a URL that referred to a page that referred back to the original page.

Alas, I struck out.

1. I tried to register and then was advised that my serial number is already in use. Apparently I had an account, but did not recall same.

2. I was then advised to click on the "do not remember User Name" button and a new passcode would be sent.

3. After receipt of the new passcode & entering it, I was advised that the token is invalid.

Clearly operator error, but now what?

Harv,

Please send an email message to sales@micromat.com, which handles the serial numbers and registrations. Thank you.

The site is new, and is still being fine-tuned. This morning, I posted a URL for the first time, and found it was not in a different color than other text. Fortunately, the person dealing with the site configuration is really responsive, and I have this site as a reference for what is supposed to be.

Many thanks, MMT.

As you suggested, my email has just been sent.

P.S.

That was fast!
The problem is now resolved and all is again right with the world.

Our new forums support the uploading of images (please scroll to the bottom, as of now).

At the moment, there is a 500K limit on the file size of attachments. We are considering whether this is adequate, taking into account the fact that some people do use forums on mobile devices.

Please make sure that you are using all three steps:

1. Add file (navigate to the file, select it, then click the Choose button)

2. Click the Insert button

3. Click the Submit button.

I hope the addition of support for screenshots will prove helpful. I am sorry that you all missed the test posting of an impressive green frog.
