1) the specs online say it has a 10/100 ethernet. (not gigabit) Really? that seems wrong for so many reasons

2) there's a usb mini port on the back, it's even marked with the usb symbol. what's that for? ext hdd? I didn't see anything offhand it was meant for.

1) I think perhaps the presumption is that most folks will be using the device wirelessly.

2) The micro USB port is "For service and diagnostics." See Apple TV (2nd generation) - Setup Guide (<<pdf).
