The above entry was made in reply to kevs' post #11926 in the Networking forum - Read only issue. It has been detached from that thread and given a new subject line. As the question is about navigating in an Excel file, I will move this topic to the Mac OS X Applications forum in a day or two. Please feel free to respond to the question as you are able regardless of where it is located.

Command-Home key
Also works in Word.
Conversely Command-End key takes you to the bottom.

I just did some playing with command-up arrow and command-down arrow, and they both worked for me, except my cursor stopped at each empty line along the way...no big deal for me, but it may be for others.

Tho it doesn't work in excel, in most word processors I've got the hardcoded habit of cmd-a followed by either left or up arrow.
does a select-all, and then move to start of selection

Since there's no home and end key on a Macbook, my guess based on my previous Command-Home method and the following fn key sequences....
HOME = fn + left arrow END = fn + right arrow
...would be fn + Command + left arrow.
