I have a quite old but nonetheless very reliable Apple LaserWriterSelect 360. Until OSX 10.6 i could print on it using a Farallon iPrint Adapter, which transfered Ethernet using AppleTalk Protocol to LocalTalk. Since AppleTalk has been dropped by Apple with OSX 10.6. this doesn't work anymore.
As Apple and some people on different forums state one solution would be to use an older Mac with OS 10.5.x and PrinterSharing.
But i only have an old G4 Machine with OSX 10.4.11 and this doesn't work. Others say, that one could use IP Printing, but I can't figure out if this is supported by the LWSelect 360 and how to find its IP-Adress. I also know of the possibility to use a Printserver connected to the Parallel port ofthe Laserprinter. But I don't know of any product that works with my iMac 7,1.
Printing with Snow Leopard on older AppleTalk Printers seems to me quite a common issue for Mac Users and I would appreciate any answer to my problem as well to the more common topic of Printing on AppleTalk Printers with Mac OSX 10.6.x
