I just noticed I can no longer program wake up or sleep or shutdown automatically in the energy panel of my M2 Ventura. I've found terminal commands. Is that the only way to do this? I'm bummed.

Wow! Apple has elevated "user friendly" to new and unheard of heights! tongue crazy

Surprisingly, a quick look through the App Store didn't turn up anything useful. frown

I'd love to know the logic behind this brilliant move!

Feedback (They need a new form for bitter complaints!)

I found iBeeZz for $12 which you're probably not interested in.

There's another such app for $50 which you're definitely not interested in.

Joemikeb had stated, in a previous thread, that you can do this with TinkerTool System although it is not free.

I tried to take a look in the latest version of TTS...8.88, but it refused to launch, possibly because of the latest Sonoma update. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I saw somewhere that OnyX may have the required capability...any idea?

Finally got it open after totally trashing my old installation, and, as per joemike, the missing functionality is included.

It costs $17 as opposed to the $12 app I previously linked to, but for $5 more you get waaay more than $5 worth of functionality.

By the way, the functionality disappeared prior to Sonoma...Ventura, I think.

Yeah, not so keen on paying for something like that unless it becomes very necessary. It was a nice convenience. I know telling Apple we are not happy about something gets no results, so I won't bother. It always lands on deaf ears if it lands at all! mad

Sorry to hear about the trashing of the old installation. What do you think of this, and should I include the spaces in the Terminal command? https://www.igeeksblog.com/how-to-schedule-mac-to-shutdown-sleep/

Guess what? For some reason the World clock popped up on my Mac just now. I didn't know there was such a thing. I can use it as a sleep timer! I just put in how long I want it to run like I do on my iPhone and then have it play a sound or use "stop playing" which is what I do with my iPhone when I am going to sleep to something playing on YouTube. Wow! That's all I really needed was a timer and I had it all along. smile

On the other hand, the only hope we've got is to inundate Apple with complaints and hope that sheer numbers finally induce them to act.

No big deal trashing TTS. FAF is quick, easy, and thorough.

An excellent rule to follow is to copy & paste Terminal commands as long as they've been posted by a reliable source, and if your source is unreliable, find a different source.

Sometimes you've got to paste commands in multiple pieces, but always include every space and character.

I never heard of World Clock 'til you mentioned it.

I use Inerzia Timer which is free from the App Store. You can set it for a time or duration, and it's also got stop-watch functionality

World Clock along with Alarms, Stopwatch, and Timers is one of the "faces" of the "Clock" app, that is part of the standard macOS, iOS, IpadOS, WatchOS, and tvOS installation.

They likely have been inundated but frankly I don't think they give a rip. If people quite purchasing Macs for their lack of response, maybe they would listen. But, I, like the rest of you, really don't want a PC having had worse luck with then.

Thanks. That's what I get for never investigating Apple apps.

I just took a look at clock, and it doesn't 100% suit my purposes, because I sometimes need to set multiple timers and Clock supports only one.

With Inerzia Timer I can run multiple copies of the app and set as many timers as I need.

At this point I only need one timer. I can set several alarms on my iPhone for different stuff. It's good to know there is something out there with more options though. I just downloaded the Inerzia Timer for future use but it just stays on my desktop taking up space. I can only minimize it. Is that the case with you? Oh never mind, I see where I can quit the app.
