At least in my setup, System Preferences > Software Update > Advanced is set to "automatically install system data files and security updates" by default. In Ventura, I believe that would be System Settings. Is Software Update included in that?

The only thing that happens by default in my setup is emails and messages get delivered. I've never installed an Apple update other than by hand after I've gotten a pop-up announcing it.

I take it, then, that your auto-install didn't install the update in question?

Ã…ccording to the linked article (original post in this thread), Apple issued the updates to macOS 13.4.1, iOS 16.5.1, and iPadOS 16.5.1. I'm using 11.7.8.

Here's an update: Apple says fix for pulled security update will be released soon
