Clicking the Reply to message button in Mail opens the new message in the foreground. Fine and what you would expect.

Right Clicking on a file on the Desktop and choosing Share... (and then Mail from the list) opens a new message with the file attached BUT IN THE BACKGROUND.

It isn't that much of a deal to find the message, select it and bring it to the foreground to address it and add text but it seems pretty dumb behaviour. Anyone know how to fix this?

When I do the right-click / Share… then double-click on Mail from the list, the compose e-mail window comes up in the foreground. If I single click on Mail, the only thing I notice is that the name of the item selected changes from a white background to a blue background. The second click, even with a pause, brings Mail to the front.

I don't know what is causing the behavior you are seeing. Shut down and reboot and see if that helps.

Now, two days on, whatever I try I cannot recreate my original scenario where the compose email window opens in the background (ie behind the main Mailbox window)!

This is of course good but I now wonder what exactly I was doing that led to the issue in the first place. A plethora of open windows of Pages, Mail, Safari and McSolitaire perhaps?
