 Older and New OSes Warning

If you are running certain older operating systems on Apple hardware, you may lose some services. See this article. And if you are running the latest MacOS (13.3) and you have your Home directory on an external drive, watch out. See this article.
On a Mac since 1984.
Currently: 24" M1 iMac, M2 Pro Mac mini with 27" BenQ monitor, M2 Macbook Air, MacOS 14.x; iPhones, iPods (yes, still) and iPads.

The external Home directory problem has been addressed in 13.3.1.

I wouldn’t be at surprised if this turns out to be a side effect of Apple’s new Advanced Data Protection for iCloud, My only problem is figuring out how to get the URL for a shared file when ADP is turned on. 
If we knew what it was we were doing, it wouldn't be called research, would it?

I wouldn’t be at surprised if this turns out to be a side effect of Apple’s new Advanced Data Protection for iCloud, My only problem is figuring out how to get the URL for a shared file when ADP is turned on. Mutter, mutter, grumble, BAH!  I was never able to get this to work the way I wanted so I ended up starting my own blog and web site. It was easier, but a LOT more expensive!
