I exchange a lot of photos via text 'Messages'. I know that messages stores these photos in Library/Messages/Attachements.

My question is this: Are those photos deleted if I delete the 'conversation' or do they just continuing to accumulate in the Attachements folder? If the photos just accumulate, is there a utility for cleaning up this folder?

Thanks in advance.

I just took a look in that folder, and I can definitely tell you that the attachments in it are not deleted when their related messages are deleted.

Also, there's no way to find a particular attachment in that folder without a considerable amount of searching.

Since I knew there was nothing important to me in there, I just deleted the folder's entire contents (without benefit of a 3rd party app).
