I am trying to upload pictures of my car to a website. I have all the pics on my desktop, and they look fine. When uploading to the website, they are rotated and upside down. How do I avoid this? Thanks.

Hi, Rita.

If you open up the pics you can rotate them to upside down, and they'll presumably flip to right-side up when you upload them.

Or you can turn your car upside down before you shoot it. tongue laugh

What program can I rotate them in? In photos I can't and in pictures I can't. I finally took the pictures from photos and dragged them into the other website for uploading but it was complicated. Don't ask what I did because it was a lot of steps and I've already forgotten what I did. Gotta go, my oatmeal cookies are done!

You can rotate them either in Photos or if you QuickLook them on your desktop with this little guy which you'll find in either top right corner.

I HATED oatmeal on the rare occasions my mother forced it on me, but gimme a good oatmeal-raisin cookie any time! (I'll only buy choc chip, though.)

I found quick look and noticed I had to go to Preview in order to be able to rotate. Anyway, that works. Hope I can remember all this next time I want to upload a pic.

Nope, you can rotate directly in QuickLook...no need for Preview. That button is just another option along with send and rotate.

None of the options, including View in Qujicklook gave me a way to rotate. In the upper right hand corner of Quick look it says "go to Preview" which I did and then I could do it.

In QuickLook, click the square icon that has a counter-clockwise arrow on top. In my setup, it's the middle icon at the top right.

Since I just happen to have a machine running Catalina, I booted it, and I got the rotate icon in both QuickLook and Pictures. I also get it in Photos in Monterey.

I kinda remember QuickLook windows having only the "Open..." button, though.

If you're not seeing it, the exact "why" is beyond me, but I will say that weird discrepancies such as this have come up before. I remember one recent one with Ira.

Mine doesn't have that window, but it actually says rotate on the right hand side which I had never noticed so thank you. Quicklook

Yeah, that rings a bell.

I wonder why your Catalina differs from mine? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Yeah, there should be no difference since it's the same version. Huh!
