I'm occasionally copying songs from itunes to another hardrive. I Get the occasional nuisance 'finder wants to copy". I never want to have to put in my 10 digit password for this? Any solution? thanks.

How are you doing the copy? Drag and drop or with some software? It could be a permissions issue; check (do a Get Info on the drives) and make sure that you have Read/Write permission).

On a Mac since 1984.
Currently: 24" M1 iMac, M2 Pro Mac mini with 27" BenQ monitor, M2 Macbook Air, MacOS 14.x; iPhones, iPods (yes, still) and iPads.

Ira, thanks, well itunes is on Mac HD, says right now Mac HD is system read write, but admin and everyone is read only.

The songs themselves are on an external HD, is read write except everyone is read only.

Why don't I try to make it all read write on both hardrives if that is possible, I'm only one at house using this computer?

Ok Ira, just did the external ok, but when I try to change admin and everyone on the Mad HD, is says I can't because I don't have permission..?? Hope I'm on correct path.

Check the permissions on the folder on the Mac HD and external HD that contain the actual iTunes songs. The permissions should be read/write for you and you would be listed as "<your name>(me)".
