Artie: You gave me the things I should check off for EasyFind in the past. I am on my old Mac while waiting for Catalina to d/l so I can't find how I set up Easy Find like you advised. Would you tell me again how to do the filters?
What has happened to this website? I can't find anything like I used to so I don't have to repeat my questions. When I use search, nothing comes up but my latest posts. This is really upsetting.

I trashed EasyFind more than two years ago because it had become slower than molasses, and I switched to Find Any File ($6 shareware), which I much prefer, so I've got no idea what settings I used. If you post a screenshot of EasyFind's window, though, I should be able to recreate them. As for searching FTM, you've now got to first click on the magnifying glass and then on "Advanced Forum Search" to access the full search screen.

Thanks. I tried that and still stuff comes up that is not relevant. I really miss "my posts" which helped me find my old posts. When the advanced form asks for "display Name" does that mean a poster name? Anyway, here is my Easy Find side bar. I will look into Find any File next. https://imgur.com/C1aYXuwI trashed EasyFind more than two years ago because it had become slower than molasses, and I switched to Find Any File ($6 shareware), which I much prefer, so I've got no idea what settings I used. When the advanced form asks for "display Name" does that mean a poster name? Yep! Exact, though, "artie" wasn't enough; I had to enter artie505. Your EasyFind settings are the same ones I used, but for your purposes, "Package Contents" and "Invisible Files & Folders" are probably unnecessary.

Thanks for checking. How come "Package Contents" and "Invisible Files & Folders" are probably unnecessary? Do apps not deposit those on my computer? The only reason I use EasyFind is to make sure I get out all of the stuff an app deposits when I want to delete it. I've found that App Cleaner leaves behind all sorts of stuff. My bad for ASSuming that you were NOT using EasyFind to remove apps. In that case, you need invisibles and package contents. I think Easy Find vs AppCleaner is the post to which you referred.

Yep, that's the one. I could have found it if we still had the "my posts" option. I wonder why it was removed? I wonder if we can now PM people? It always looked like an option but was disabled. I would like to make up my own mind as to whether I would like to be PM'd or not. Thanks again for your help. Thanks for checking.
