Total Lunar Eclipse, Winter Solstice & Meteor Shower... Tuesday morning, December 21st, 2010 On the East Coast, the eclipse begins half an hour after midnight on Tuesday, Dec. 21. Out West, it starts around 9:30 p.m. PST Monday. Across the country, the whole eclipse will be observable before the moon sets in the west just as the sun is rising in the east. Maximum eclipse is at 3:17 a.m. EST/12:17 a.m. PST

I missed out on Halley's Comet when it appeared during the last century. It will return in 2061. I'll be ready, although I'll be 116 then. My luck: I'll live that long and be blind.
