So I ran the Macbook and Superdrive Firmware Updates that "(will) eliminate(s) the noise made by the optical disk drive during system startup and wake from sleep on MacBook computers." (Early 2009 White MacBook5.2)

I now no longer hear the noise when waking my deuced Mac(hina) from sleep or launching Disk Utility, but I still hear it on startup/restart.

Anybody else?

(I tried to rerun the updates but was told, in both instances, that "This computer does not need this update.")
