I used virtualpc for windows 95 and 98, and back then it worked great, although it was the only option at the time. Here we are using vmware, and that also works well. Technical support can be an issue though, they want you to pay for a support contract. Otherwise it's post a question in the forums and hope another user can help you. We've ran into a couple technical problems that required spending time on the phone with a tech to fix what was basically a known issue that I would otherwise have been left to flounder in the forums trying to fix, so their yearly subscription model is what we go with. That also keeps our software up-to-date, and because your vm MUST be updated when the os makes any major changes, a yearly license is actually the smarter way to go. Otherwise you can find yourself stranded, unable to run an os update because it's going to break your VM and require you to buy the next version of it to fix it. (and if this happens by surprise, you may find yourself trying to find a backup of your VM disk image you can restore, because now it's unbootable and the only other "fix" is to pay for a vm upgrade)

That's basically the reason I don't do hackintosh - they can break with little warning and require too much attention. (and have less support!) So whatever you get, go with their yearly license model.
