I've been with Interarchy for 15 years? It was a great software - the best for speed, and intuitiveness, but has been ruined by it's current owner/ developer.

The big dog, Transmit, I never found as good back then, but maybe it's interface is more user friendly today? Any recommendations?

I’m quite happy with the weirdly named Cyberduck.

thanks U, I've heard good things, but Duck has no tech support and what if I hit crisis or something?

I would love to hear from those who know all players really well: Interarchy, Duck, Transmit. Do you?

I have used Forklift for many years.

Thanks Joe, will take a peek. Did you ever try Interarchy or Transmit?

Transmit was the first FTP client I used and I liked it. I switched to Forklift because I was looking for a more general purpose tool and Forklift fills that bill nicely.

I second Cyberduck use. It is straightforward, has been around quite awhile and stays current with OS updates.

Ira thanks, have you used Interarchy, Tranmit? Or Forklift? How compare to Duck?

Transmit is only $45.00 and they have email support. Isn't that worth $45.00....

I'm a big fan of real developer emails helping with questions, that just being on your on with a forum.

And my FTP needs can get hairy.. I have to exclude workpress sites etc etc from the sync..

No, have not used the others.

another fan of cyberduck

though you can go old-skool and use ftp from terminal wink

IRA, others/
Even though I've been prepping to go with Transit, (because they have email support, I downloaded Cyberduck and was blown away that it asked me to import ml bookmarks from Interarchy.) Wow. I'm not even sure how transmit does bookmarks, but I doubt it can do that.

The Duck interface seem brighter and nicer to look at too.

Only thing so far: When I click on a listing bookmark, it says unsecure ftp and log in fails. (neither of those things happened with INterarchy)

What use for support with Duck? Google group, they also see to have real email tickets..

There are several protocols for FTP: FTP, FTPS and SFTP. Their URL formatting should match the way the server talks. You shouldn’t use ftp:// for a secure connection, nor sftp:// for an unsecured connection. A wrong protocol might fail. You’ll have to share more details to solve this mystery.

I have never had to contact support, but the in-app Help menu links to a website for support, bugs and feature requests.

That did not help too much.

They imported bookmarks and then when I connect, have all these issue that Interarchy did not have..
