One very negative review here. But the company did post a comment.

In general, the software seems unnecessary with the modern OS X. Apple's iCloud and Find My Mac can do what their "security" component claims. Hard drive optimization is not supposed to be necessary with OS X, and I'm always leery of claims to speed up my Mac using software. Put in a faster hard drive or more RAM, sure; but via software, not so sure.

What about this software is appealing to you?

Well, macReviverSoft - Google Search returns virtually nothing about the app, but on following links I found two reasons to avoid it like the plague!

Quote:
Before downloading: Clean your Mac with MacKeeper

Searching FTM for "MacKeeper" will return results that will curl your hair, and I've got an inherent distrust for any other app that references it.

Quote:
This download will be managed by our ad-supported smart download manager.

Basically, macReviverSoft smells like malware!

Out of curiosity, I looked MacReviver up on a link from another site a few days ago and it sounded suspiciously like a rebranded version of the infamous MacKeeper. Some of the functions it trumpets to speed up the Mac can actually be detrimental to the performance of Macs with SSD or Fusion drives. Others are of questionable value at best on Macs running Mavericks or Yosemite.

MacReviver has been well rated by sites MacReviver has purchased ad space on and not so well rated on independent sites (the same can be said of MacKeeper). I will leave it to the reader to draw her/his own conclusions on the veracity of those revues.

I was interested in increasing my download speed which is 5.13Mbps with DSL but after reading the replies, I think I will give a pass. I did have my suspicions that's why I posted it. Thanks guys. jaybass

There are some gimmicks that supposedly will increase download speeds but the only ones I have found that actually work are…
  1. Change your ISP probably to a cable provider and/or
  2. paying your ISP for faster download speeds
