snapz and snapz pro seem to be the best thing going on the mac.

I wonder why your search didn't come up with Screen Recorder. As part of QuickTime Player in Snow Leopard you already have it. It's easy to try, and if it suits your needs it may save you SnapzPro's $69 purchase price.

Ah, yes found it in the OS, was not aware. no need for Snapz.
