Greetings, I need some expert opinion! For a year or two I have been using Little Snitch, and it does seem to let me know when a site or program wants our computer to send info out. I now read about a program called Ghostery, that would seem to let me know if someone is tracking or recording info from our computer. The two ideas are similar, but not identical. Would there be any value in adding the second program, or is it a "belt and suspenders" idea? Thanks in advance, Dave iMac/Lion

Ghostery (Safari extension, not program) will add value because it blocks what it calls "bugs," i.e. tracking cookies (Other stuff, too?), from loading, whereas Little Snitch simply alerts you when something tries to phone home, which the blocked cookies don't (reeeally shouldn't, anyhow) do.

I think the two complement each other rather than overlap in functionality.

To be accurate, Ghostery "is a browser tool available for Firefox, Chrome, Safari, Opera and Internet Explorer."

Thanks for that; I shouldn't have made the Safari assumption.
