When Window shade finally came out for the new OS, I renewed my subscription and was thrilled to have it back. However, after a short time, it fails to operate, instead sending the window to the dock instead of the standard window shade effect. This began in 10.6.5 and continues in 10.6.6. If I remove all the haxies and reinstall them, Window Shade will function for a very short time and then reverts. Oh, if we only had Conflict Catcher again.

Any ideas on troubleshooting this problem? Obviously something is interfering.

Does it happen when you're logged into a test account? If you don't have such an account, create one via System Preferences > Accounts.

I had previously created a TEST account, but when I installed the haxies I had limited them to my admin account. I logged into TEST and authorized the haxies to be active and YES Window Shade DOES work.

Is there a simple way to eliminate the culprit that is likely conflicting with Window Shade??? (short of trashing half of OS X's prefs and doing it ala Conflict Catcher?)

First thing to try is trashing Window Shade's plist (assuming it's got one).
