I got this pop-up, which I've never seen before, yesterday.

I don't get it if I click on "Contact Us" links on other sites.

Has anybody else ever seen it?

Does it relate to a pref that I've inadvertently set somewhere?

Thanks.

I got one like that as well.....don't remember where, but closed the tab immediately.

I clicked on the same "Contact Us" link in Firefox, and the expected email form came up without any pre-pop-up, so I clicked on "Allow" to see what would happen in Safari, and the expected email form came up.

Weather Underground's website has been sinking into the muck since they "upgraded" it a coupl'a years ago, and the company's having changed hands twice in the interim - they're now owned by IBM - hasn't helped in the least. (Frankly, I'm surprised by the shoddy product IBM is supporting. frown )

hyperlinks can do more than just open new web pages. they can also make new emails

Code:
mailto://...

I don't recall the exact format, but they usually fill in the TO and the SUBJECT, and I think they can preset the BODY also.

I really don't see why the browser should feel the need to block that, unless it was done without the user actually CLICKING anything.

In any event, it can't SEND. It can only begin a compose.
