This is not a trouble-shooting issue, but this article from Adguard does a good job explaining how advertisers are using new technologies to get around today's generation of ad blockers. They win battles, but the war goes on.

DISCLAIMER: This is not an endorsement of Adguard but because it is informative about "state of the art" I thought it worth reporting.

No such problems with Safari 10.1.
