I just tried to order something off of Walmart. Every time I click "add to cart" the page freezes and there is a thin, white "bar" across my screen.

I went to my old iBook and had no problem ordering. I am wondering how I would figure out what is causing this. I am thinking it might be an application or extension of some kind. Is there a place I can go for a record of what happened or do I have to undue each extension, one at a time, to try to figure this out? Grrrrrrrr!!

I am also having problems, when typing something like this, in going back to make a correction. I can't get the cursor to work half the time. Never had this happen before.

Hi, Rita,

You can take a look in /Apps/Utils/Console > Console Messages to see if there's a pertinent entry at the moment you experienced your issue.

As for extensions, toggle the switch in the top right corner of your Safari Extensions pane to "Off;" that will turn them all off, and if it corrects your issue you can turn them on one at a time to find the culprit.

Also, if you're running any Safari plugins, you can try disabling them one at a time to see if there's anything to be learned.

I suggest starting a new thread in the Mac Desktops & Notebooks Forum about your cursor issue.

Edit: I just visited Walmart and had no trouble adding something to my cart.

Thanks, Artie. Funny, I turned off all extensions, and Walmart worked. I turned them back on and it worked again. Maybe justed needed a little reboot of extensions. Crazy. I will put that other question in the Notebooks section as you advised next time it happens. That seems to be working now as well. confused I couldn't make heads nor tails of the console info. blush

Happy to hear that things have worked themselves out, Rita...guess we'll never know what happened.

Console is often incomprehensible, but it can be helpful anyhow. What you want to do when you've got an issue is look to see if there's an entry for your app or whatever at the right moment, and then post it or send it to a developer to see if anybody can translate it into English.

Edit: I've sent developers Console entries that have helped them to squash bugs in their apps any number of times.
