Hi, guys! smile

I need to do a clean reinstall because my 15" MacBook Pro (running OS 10.6.8) hangs during start up (even when trying to boot in safe mode). I can access the drive in target disk mode, but I don't know what I need to copy in order to save all my mailboxes, or how to restore them after reinstalling the OS.

I would also like to manually uninstall Photoshop CS 4, where all my woes originated, but I'll ask that question in the audio video forum.

Any pointers would be much appreciated!

Which mail client are you using...Apple's Mail.app, something else?
Oops, forgot to specify that it's Apple's Mail.app v. 4.5. tongue
The file you'll want to save is ~/Library/Mail, but for convenience, you may want to save ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.plist, too.
An alternative would be to save the entire user folder therefore capturing all your data, settings, passwords, photos, tunes, etc.
Good thought.
