OS 10.6.8 3TB lacie external HD. Today for the first time when I opened my external HD, all the vlc icons are huge as are the folders. I went to the menu and under view I clicked Show view options and then clicked the box Always open in icon view. This didn't reduce the size. When the other options i.e. list, columns and cover flow are selected, the size is normal. How can I solve this problem?
Now this doesn't stop me from using the HD in any way but I don't know why this would happen. jaybass

Haven't you got an "Icon size" slider in the icon view preference pane of the command-J ("View Options") pane?
