Canon Pixma iP5000....about 6 years old. OSX 10.6.8
I've never had problems with this printer until this morning. I set it for 50 copies and, when it seemed I was past the 50, I deleted the instruction.
Sure enough, it had printed 74 copies and was prepared to do more. Thoughts?
you sure it was at 74 copies, or 74 pages? (was the document more than one page?)
It was a single-sided document, one page, software is up to date....and it printed 74 copies. It's been an awfully long time since I've needed to print that many copies so perhaps the machine needs to go in for a quick course in remedial math.
This is a rather general reply, but the suggestions often work.
1. Repair printer permissions with
Print Therapy. There is a seven day free trial.
2. If all else fails,
reset the printing system.
Thanks....I'll give those a try on Thursday. I'm off the island tomorrow for meetings.
Yes I did, thank-you. I didn't use Print Therapy but I did reset the printing system. I had to wait a few days to collect enough sheets of paper that I could re-use for testing a couple of numbers including one more than 50. Then I promptly forgot to get back to the thread.
So, at this point I know for sure my printer can count to 17 and 51.... and that I need to..... hang on, it'll come to me in a moment.
