OS 10.5.8
I downloaded 3 episodes of a UK serial and the first one was perfect. The other 2 were pixelated and hesitant to start and then froze. The audio kept coming thru.
I was reading about a Deblocking software made by VirtualDub and I'm wondering if anyone knows if this software will perform. Being completely unfamiliar with deblocking, do you download first and then apply this product or what?

Perhaps this will answer your questions.

Thanks joe,
I must confess I'm not too familiar with most of that link. I will have to peruse it carefully. Without studying it more just now, do I download it and then apply this software? I image you do.

Deblocking software will use a blur command to try to blur out the edges of the subtle blocking artifacts you sometimes see in video files that have been compressed too much. (It makes the image look blurrier but can't recover data that has been removed.)

It WILL NOT fix a damaged video file that won't play.

Thanks tacit,
After what I have read and then reading your remarks, I think I will pass for awhile. I am not 'up' on that sort of thing.
