My wife and I both have iPhone6 although my current iOS is 12.4.8 while her's is 12.4. We do not have a Call Forwarding option with our carrier.

However, I am having problems with my iPhone being unable to toggle off the Call Forward function (Settings>Phone>Call Forward) without doing a reboot. If I don't reboot, and check the Call Forward status, I just have an interminable spinning wheel and am unable to receive calls. I only became aware when I got home from a walk and my wife she said got a call from someone trying to reach me but couldn't.

Anyone else having a similar issue with 12.4.8?

Okay....so, I've done a bunch of stuff, but to no avail. Call Forwarding simply toggles on of its own accord. Since it was happening with both phones I updated my wife's iOS to 12.4.8 so that I'd be dealing with apples to apples (Did I really say that?). The fact that the same issue is on both phones leads me to think the problem must be with the common denominator - the software. Any thoughts?

Apparently, we're not alone, although I don't see our specific problem here.

I learned two things while looking for a solutions. First, there are a lot of people having this problem, so I assume some may have come here looking for a solution. The second thing I learned is good news for them - the answer might be simple.

At a few places I saw that people went to their carriers for a code, typically octothorp, octothorp, some digits, octothorp. The formula remained the same but the digits changed from one carrier to another. I gave my carrier a call even though Call Forwarding is not in my package of options. They provided a code (octothorp, octothorp, some digits, octothorp,), which I entered by using the dialer and, after several hours, the code continues to keep Call Forwarding turned off.
