My 12GB iphone says 8 GB is used, but I eyeball at most 2GB. I went into a store and guy said update the ios, and that may solve it. It did not. I am ready for a genius bar apt, unless someone online has an idea to check.Thanks!

What did you eyeball to get 2 GB? Remember the iOS can use up ~2 GB.

To be certain, on your iPhone go to Settings>General>Storage & iCloud Usage>(Storage)*Manage Storage and you will see a list of all the apps that are consuming some of your 12 GB. Some of them may allow you to trim down what they are consuming.

*Pick "Manage Storage" from the "Storage" portion, not the iCloud portion.

Thanks Ira, yes, we did all that it looks to be about 2GB and it says I've used 8GB. Just facebook a tad of photos... stumped.

Yes, Photos is notorious for consuming space, and now you know so too is Facebook!

Photos says 380Mb, Facebook 360mb, few others, 200mb, it all adds up to about a gig or two tops. So time to show genius bar? Says 8.86GB used.
