Hi all, I really don't want to start a panic, but I came across this and have no idea if there's any truth in the article. Although I wouldn't be surprised, really. Please read this and tell me/us what you think.

This sounds about as believable as the QAnon garbage. I would ignore it.

This may not be so farfetched. The very reputable site MacInTouch reported something similar, although not the sharing of the information. See the November 12 post on its home page.

Thanks for the link, Ira.

I didn't experience the symptoms reported in the article, nor did anyone post here about having experienced them.

Any input on that?

WOW! Double thanks. The linked article induced me to look in my Security & Privacy pane where I discovered that somewhere along the line - lord only knows when - my built-in firewall had been turned off.

Memo to everyone: Check yours!

I have not experienced the problem, but as has been pointed out in other posts, we here at FTM are a small part of the Apple Universe; albeit, experienced, but small.

Forgt to post this earlier... The MacInTouch article reports on the same event as the OP's linked doc, but without the implied "evil" ramifications.

More: It also links to the OP's linked doc.

Something pretty disconcerting, apparently beyond just a server slowdown, happened, and an explanation from Apple is in order.

Maybe we should hire Eric Snowden to investigate this even further! Sounds like something he can handle.
