I just copied images 7.37 GB that a friend sent on a CF card 1400 images.

I deleted about 3/4 of the images down to about 350.

The folder now says in the finder 7.53 GB.

I emptied trash, and rebooted, and it still says it's 7.53GB. Any one know what this is going on? Thanks.

By any chance is the Photos Library linked to iCloud? Deleted images in the iiCloud Photos library hang around for up to thirty days before they are completely removed. That would be reflected in the Library on your Mac.

No Joe, thanks, nothing to do with icloud. CF card from my friend straight to external HD.
