I don't know whether to place this entry in a new topic or just continue this one. I'll leave that up to you moderators.

I've had enough time to cool off, so I've ordered Dragon Dictate v3 from Nuance. That means I need to upgrade from Snow Leopard to Mountain Lion. I've read a lot of negative stuff about Mountain Lion. I quit Lion (10.7) and went back to 10.6.8 because of many glitches I encountered in 10.7. Is 10.8.1 any better than 10.7? I guess I'm looking for a little moral support before launching. Is anyone using 10.8.1? How do you like it?

Edit: Originally a reply to Re: Dictation app on Mountain Lion, this post was detached from that thread to form a separate topic.

Personally I have not run into any glitches with Mountain Lion that were not "fixed" by upgrading a glitching app to the latest version. But then I had no particular problems upgrading from Snow Leopard to Lion or Leopard to Snow Leopard.

Any time you upgrade there is a finite probability some app will not work and have to be either upgraded or replaced. Some developers will not even start work on their necessary updates until the new OS X version is in full release so there can be a significant lag in their catching up. The other side of that coin is there will inevitably be cool new apps and new features in old apps enabled by the new OS X version.

Be sure and let us know whether or not Dragon Dictate V3 is any better than V2.

Thanks. I had a trouble-free upgrade to 10.8.2 from 10.6.8 earlier today. As for the upcoming bout with Dragon Dictate 3, a seasoned programmer told me years ago that "You're never more happy with a new computer or a new application than the day you order it." So far, so good. (weak grin)

Which glitches in particular did you have trouble with?
