My wife accidentally deleted all the files in her Sent mailbox in Mail on her MacMini OS 10.5.8. No problems I told her and immediately restored an appropriate Sent messages folder off Time Machine and, unsurprisingly, the "lost" files were replaced/restored onto the computer.
However, the files have not appeared in the Sent mailbox in Mail.
Any suggestions anyone?

Try rebuilding the Sent mailbox from the Mailbox menu.

I will commit this to memory - in other words I will make a note of it - for future reference, as I (we) "somehow" sorted out the problem to my wife's satisfaction (is that an oxymoron ). So I can't actually try out your suggestion now, but, I certainly appreciate your response.
