I just ran D/W and it says that there's a property list data is damaged and cannot be repaired.
It told me that location is: HD/users/jondan/libary/prefs.

Question: How do I find the corrupt file?

There are 172 files.

See if Preferential Treatment finds it.

I must be going senile! I ran DW again and in RED, it names the corrupt file. i.e. com.apple.iphotomosaic.phlist.

I have put in the trash but did not empty it yet.

Ran DW again and tells me it is in the trash. I guess I can empty the trash now.

I checked Preferential Treatment first but came up negative.

Thanks Jon.

Just a reminder that Diskwarrior, Preferential Treatment, OnyX, et. al. all use the same Unix command to check for damaged property list files and that routine only checks for malformed XML statements. Passing that test does not mean there are not invalid parameters or arguments in the property list and there are even a few cases where failing the test may not mean there is an actual problem in the plist. The malformation may be intentional on the part of the developer for one reason or another.

Like any tool of this type it must be used with knowledge and judgement. I am of the opinion these tools should only be used when there is another indication of a problem not as a prophylactic measure.

Welcome!

was gonna say, I've seen that all of I think twice which is very surprising considering how often I run DW, and it always told me what file it was. Not that the function is really all that useful.
