Here's an interesting visual comparing the market cap of various tech giants with the GDP of various countries....quite an eye opener.

The nations, the companies, the industries, the technologies, and the number of digits in the numbers have changed, but proportionately not that much has changed in the last four or five centuries. I just hope I live long enough to at least glimpse what the next super industry will be (and hopefully some assurance that our planet will remain habitable).

...and tomorrow is here thanks dreamers like many of those "Tech (and financial) Giants" and the genius of people like Burt Rutan who always think out of the box.

Now it is up to ALL of us to preserve the planet so the future can happen for us too.

Or is it just a couple of billionaires who have so much money they can 'get ink' by doing something that looks good but, in the greater scheme of things, isn't all that much. What Richard Branson did today, Alan Shepard accomplished 60 years ago.

In this appearance on Fareed Zacharia, Neil deGrasse Tyson puts Branson’s “space travel” into perspective. Worth watching.
