On the verge of “opening Florida†President Trump and Governor Ron DeSantis met at the Whitehouse and told reporters that Florida has a relatively low Covid-19 infection rate, compared to what many experts predicted for the state. DeSantis, who is a strong Trump ally, said: “Everyone in the media was saying Florida was going to be like New York or Italy and that has not happened.â€
What neither DeSantis nor Trump told the reporters was that the state had forced medical examiners to stop releasing COVID 19 death data, when the medical examiners data showed a death rate 10% higher than the numbers released by the Florida Department of Health.
That incredible instruction was revealed by both the Tampa Bay Times and the Miami Herald.
