If any of you noticed, I wasn't online any yesterday. Here's why. Last summer, I had this surgery where they derotated my femur and they had to put a metal plate and screws in to hold the bone together. Well, a few months ago, It started to mess with my hip. So yesterday I got the metal taken out. The doctors were so nice, that when I got into the O.R., I told them I liked Garbage, and they started playing one of their songs and put their website on the screen beside me while I had that mask thing on to breathe in the anistesia. So all I heard while I was going to sleep was Garbage!

Anyways, I'm glad to be back! in a lot of pain though...

Good luck with the recovery. It's a little strange that listening to that Garbage music is soothing.

Thank you! Can't really walk right now, but i'm supposed to be able to, but it hurts too bad. I'm working on it. Garbage is soothing to me because 1. Shirley Manson's voice, 2. they're all I listen to, and 3. the song they played was one of their softer songs.

Oh yeah, and I had that mask on, I was sure to go to sleep. The last thing I saw was The picture of them on the computer screen. here is the song that they played.

Stupid Pain medicine! It makes me tired and itchy!

Let me also wish you a speedy recovery. Don't neglect your pain medicine, however. It has been shown that pain retards recovery. Besides, there is no need to suffer if you don't have to. Discuss unwanted side effects with your doctor, however. He/she may be able to prescribe an alternative.

Percocet...

OH! I'm taking Hydrocodone!

You can check out the various opioids online and/or via the PDR.
Percocet is oxycodone + acetaminophen; oxycodone also goes by the trade name OxyContin.
Fentanyl (as a trans-dermal patch), aka Duragesic, is a good alternative.
Your surgeon should be able to tailor such items to suit your circumstances and minimize annoying side-effects.

Not so much. Your surgeon can discuss it with you by phone and deal with your local pharmacy (or whatever Rx service you use) by phone or fax.

Oh, they already know that it makes me itchy. I can deal with it ok, I think.

OxyContin is a much higher dosage of oxycodone than Percocet, designed for time-release delivery. Because of the higher dosage's danger and value as a recreational drug, it's much more tightly regulated. For a legit Oxy script you've gotta be in some dire straits, which is why my Percocet guess was far more likely (even though it was wrong). Still, enjoy the high.
