The big news today — No, it has nothing to do with Donald Tromp [sic] — is the above-captioned.
Most, if not all, (Canadian) news outlets are reporting it as a cause célèbre. Dial up any to get their take on it.
Here's just one: This law may be stopping Canadians from playing Jeopardy!

And here's Jeopardy!'s position: Be a Contestant - FAQs | Jeopardy.com

All that in spite of there being "no legal impediment" to such.

Much like the current American political process which indicates that most voters seem to use their neurons only for bladder and bowel control, this is inexplicable.

"I'll take 'Sheesh!' for $1000, Alex."
This adds data to my contention there are too #$%^* many lawyers trying to justify their salaries.
Darn!
After I spent the past 3 days memorizing all of the fruits that start with 'Q'.
It's kind of silly, passing a law that is unenforceable like the online privacy one that Canada passed. It's one of those 'feel good' laws that no one sees anything wrong with until grelber is barred from Jeopardy because of some tortured legal argument.

Edit: To emphasize this political absurdity, may I suggest Moose Jaw Jeopardy?

Actually, the anti-spam legislation — in effect since Canada Day, July 1, 2014 — is working reasonably well, and several corporate offenders have been heftily fined for violating it.
Here's an excellent précis of same: Is your franchise ready for Canada’s anti-spam law?

As for Jeopardy!'s "tortured legal argument", it's tortured because it's not really a legitimate legal argument.

Et moi, my enjoyment of Jeopardy! is restricted to the couch.
