Very shortly iFixit will be taken over by Apple ….an interesting development. Did iFixit have an impact on AppleCare sales? Or has Apple just found a good way to upgrade their store of DIU guides? Whatever the answer, it might be wise to start downloading any iFixit guides you might need for older equipment, while they remain archived.

And today I get a message that says, in part, : "If you fell for our “Apple acquired iFixit” April 1st joke, rest easy. Selling out iFixit's core beliefs is unthinkable. We'd stop breathing first."

And from the lack of responses to this thread I guess I'm the only one who fell for it. Gettin' old, gettin' slow.

I suspect the statement "Selling out iFixit's core beliefs is unthinkable. We'd stop breathing first." is part of the April Fool's joke (meta-joke?), as my knowledge of human nature suggests that if they were actually threatened with death for real, they'd sell.
