iPad 3: What to expect

Someone who bought an iPad 2 last week may have cause to sulk perhaps. But as an original iPad owner (who waited in line on day one for roughly 30-something minutes to live on the leading edge), that "sucker" sentiment is beyond silly. We have been enjoying our iPads for nearly 2 years now (i.e., costing pennies per day), and probably planned to upgrade right around now anyway. [and I still wouldn't care if it comes with a camera or not.]

That's one thing about my original iPad that still blows me away. Always cool as a cucumber... even when charging. [older iPod noticeably warmer]

My parents just got me an iPad 3 for my birthday. I haven't spent a lot of time with it yet, but one thing I gotta say...the display really is every bit as gorgeous as all the reviews claim it is.

Another thing that struck me about it is that I wasn't quite prepared for how heavy it is. For such a tiny thing--and man, is it thin, the designers really shoehorned all the electronics in there--it's unexpectedly heavy.

There's not a lot of wasted space in there. Over 90% of the iPad3 by volume is composed of metal frames, glass, and battery.
