Internal testing of Mac OS X 10.8 increases at Apple If it acquires the name of another cat, what will it be? Ocelot? Tabby? Pussy Galore (from Goldfinger)?

I believe it was the late Steve Jobs who committed Apple to an 18 month release cycle on OS X. So it should not be surprising they would already be doing some alpha testing.

Having absolutely no insight into Apple's future plans, I would not be at all surprised to see OS X and iOS merging into an essentially single product line. Both are already based on the Darwin kernel and it would save a ton of development costs to integrate the different product lines. Neither would I be surprised if Apple elected to go with their ARM processor as the CPU for all devices for the same reasons.

Let us hope that it isn't the CIVET cat — which isn't a cat, being a member of the Viverridae (think mongoose), and is the carnivore responsible for kopi luwak in its incarnation as the Asian Palm Civet (Paradoxurus hermaphroditus).

Ocelot be a good thought. Sabertooth not so much.

Octopussy (From James Bond movie) would be ideal because of the number. But I am afraid, the copyright issue would be a problem for Apple... Time to move to dogs )))
