If I'm reading your tone correctly, I'm guessing you missed the late scramble during the ending days of MFIF, when Franklin graciously offered to not only host and webmaster a new home, but also to register an agreed-upon domain. In fact, rebuilding our place was originally his idea, with the admins, mods, and much of us old schoolers quickly jumping aboard. Nothing secret about it; all we can do is offer thanks for his graciousness and hard work. And for the graciousness and hard work of the other admins and mods.

Not being a Mac user, and being really, REALLY busy with work, I'm not really on top of things as regards MFIF/FTM.

But it's great to see the community lives on. Sad that c|Net doesn't seem to understand what made the community what it was there, and is here.

I've had that email address since 1992 and it's been all over the Web, on the registration for about two dozen Web sites, posted on mailing lists, posted on Usenet, you get the idea. There ain't no way that trying to hide it will make any difference now.

Especially since the information is contained in the publicly-accessible domain name record.

I did, however, cut the physical mailing address.
