I submitted a response to heath's query re Word 2011. While it shows up in the Mac OS X System forum, it doesn't register under Last Post. ¿Qué pasa?
heath's post was moved from its original forum by dkmarsh; the move may have something to do with what you're not seeing.
You're right!
It shows up there as Last Post (at least for the moment).
In fact I actually posted it to the right forum (Mac OS X Applications) in the first place; so it must have linked and inserted itself into the old site too.
I would have thought that the old site would have been closed/locked after the original post had been moved.
I'm not sure what "old site" refers to or what you saw where, but as expected I don't see any sign of your reply in the Mac OS X System forum. And the only thing related to heath's thread that's in the Mac OS X System forum is the pointer that links to that thread in the Applications forum. (The pointer should be automatically deleted next week at which time my link to it will no longer work.)
Mea culpa.
I just noticed that if I try to access the old/previous site it automatically takes it to the proper thread site in Applications.
[However, I don't see any actual "pointer" any longer.]
I just checked and the pointer is still in the Mac OS X System forum.

Perhaps a re-read of How do I get the red (1) to go away? would prove helpful.
Indeed it is on the thread list page but not in the thread where there is usually an indication that the thread's been moved.
(Let's just leave it at that. I'll try to navigate more carefully in future.)
If you click on the Mac OS X System forum in the Forums Index, and then on the thread, itself, i.e. "Issues when opening word for mac docs", you'll see the pointer, like so.
True dat. I just never navigated that way.
So many choices, so little time. tongue
I habitually navigate by "Last Post", and the UBB.threads "feature" we're dealing with has always frustrated that habit.

The way moved threads are dealt with is abysmal design.
