Just just got the Epson P 900, (for image prints) but question could apply to Canon and other similars...

I usually don't buy extended warranties for anything, but thinking about the Square trade 3 years $240 about... The Epson is even more $..

But... some argue don't bother, that printers are supposed to be disposable and if last year, odds are 99% be ok for at least 4-5 years with light/ moderate use. any opinions? thanks.

Extended warranties must be a moneymaker for the store or manufacturer. They aren't offering them in order to save the consumer any money. If it was a lousy deal for them, they wouldn't make the offer.
