I have Dashboard in Split View (or whatever it’s called) at the top of my display. How do I get rid of iT?

Argh, I posted to soon. More sleuthing indicated that Dashboard must be turned off In Mission Control. Who 'da thunk it?

Are you saying that Dashboard just shows up as a Space, or that it is always the other part of a Split View? The former is "normal".

On a Mac since 1984.
Currently: 24" M1 iMac, M2 Pro Mac mini with 27" BenQ monitor, M2 Macbook Air, MacOS 14.x; iPhones, iPods (yes, still) and iPads.

It is (was) always part of the Split View and behaved as any other window would. Well, except that there was no "X" to dismiss it or the green icon to remove it.
