I note that a lot of the ratings are from people who have rated the product many times and, when you click on the contributors' icon, it appears their multiple ratings are included in the whole.
I recall watching a consumer TV program about on-line ratings and they revealed a lot of "raters" who are in the business of rating. That is, they get paid to write ratings and therefore a lot of ratings are from people who never tried the product, visited the restaurant, et cetera.
Since then I've stopped looking at the 'consumer ratings' and instead look for reviewers who put a product through its paces and write a detailed report. In a search for reviewers of this product,
I found this which talks about “fake reviewing on an almost industrial scale".
