Anybody know anything about CleanMyMac 3 for cleaning caches? I've never heard of macpaw.com.

I would think that Onyx could do the job, and it has a good reputation.

I've never heard of it but, according to Wikipedia: "CleanMyMac is not allowed in the Apple App store, because it is not safe."

I'm not a fan of anything that "cleans" my computer, be it a mac or a pc. Cocktail, Tinkertool, and Onyx are the only ones I recall that weren't shady, but I didn't consider their cleaning options useful (nothing a Safe Boot wouldn't already do for me) Some of them had useful features though. I used Tinkertook to turn on Show Hidden Files for example, before I got used to doing it myself in terminal. A few here will advocate doing a cleanup with one of the above every month or so, but I don't personally consider it to be necessary or helpful. Mac OS does a pretty good job of keeping itself as clean as is necessary for smooth operation.
